A package of agar agar powder

Half a handful of each of the following ingredients: eggplant, green onion, asparagus, enoki mushroom, rapini, sliced carrots, sliced ham or turkey.


In a small pot of boiling water, add the vegetables and let them cook for under 2 minutes. The asparagus may need to be cooked for 3-4 minutes in order to soften. In a medium sized bowl, line the sides with the meat and veggies.

In a medium sized pot, mix the agar agar powder with water by following the instructions on the packet. Pour the contents of the pot into the bowl. Let the bowl sit in the refrigerator until the jello freezes. This may take up to 12 hours depending on the size of your bowl.

When the jello has hardened, flip the bowl over on top of a plate. Let the contents slip out and it’s ready to serve!
