Shrimp Stuffed Tofu Recipe





3 blocks of fried tofu

5 Peeled and de-veined shrimps (Chopped)

2 tbs ground pork or chicken

2 tbs chopped onion

1 clove of garlic (sliced)

3 stalks of green onion or chives (chives are stronger than green onions for tying)

A pinch of salt, sugar and pepper

1/2 tbs soy sauce

1/2 tbs ketchup

1/2 cup water or chicken broth


Boil the green onions or chives for 2 seconds and set aside. Make a small incision on the top of the tofu blocks and hollow out the insides.

Mix the Shrimp, Ground meat, onion, salt, sugar and pepper together and stuff into the tofu blocks. Use the green onions or chives to tie each individual block of tofu. On an oiled pan set to medium high, add the garlic. Cook until fragrant but not golden. Add tofu and 1/2 cup water or chicken broth. Set the stove to medium (add more water if it evaporates). Turn the tofu, cooking them 2 minutes on each side. Add ketchup and soy sauce. Give it a good stir. This can be served with bread or rice. Enjoy!
