Stuffed Squash Flowers

Squash Flower Stuffed Chicken 2

Squash Flower Stuffed Chicken

You can eat almost every part of a squash plant. The flowers I’d say are the most delicious! Not only do they have a unique taste, they are also a little fatty which adds a perfect touch to any recipe.

Servings: 2

– 1/2 pound ground chicken

– 6-8 squash flowers

– 1/4 tsp salt

– pinch sugar

– 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

– 1/4 onion

– 1 clove garlic

– 3-4 de-veined shrimps

In a food processor, blend the chicken, shrimp, garlic, onion, salt, sugar and black pepper. Gently clean the squash flowers thoroughly to remove and dirt and bugs making sure not to rip the flower petals. Spoon some of the blended mixture into each flower and close them up so they look like buds. Set a medium sized pan on medium heat with olive oil. Cook the stuffed flowers for 10 minutes, turning them every 2-3 minutes to make sure they are cooked through. Add 1 tbs of water to the pan and put a lid on it and continue cooking on low heat for 5 minutes. This recipe can be served with white rice or quinoa.
